Operable Data Quality
Measuring DQ is not enough. Without ownership, thresholds, alerts, and remediation, quality stays as a “nice dashboard.”
Rules
Define domain rules: completeness, uniqueness, validity, consistency, and timeliness (freshness).
Thresholds
A threshold turns a metric into a control. When violated, it triggers an action, not a discussion.
Alerts
Severity-based alerts with defined owners and response. Operations, not improvisation.
Remediation
A workflow with an owner, root cause, correction, and closure evidence. If it is not closed, it repeats.
What is delivered (evidence)
- A versioned library of DQ rules.
- Control dashboard (DQ + freshness + volume) and alerting.
- A remediation process with owners and closure evidence.
- A periodic quality report and prioritized open items.
